Overview
DUO is a multifactor authentication system designed to improve account security.
Once enrolled and activated, you will log in with your standard username and password as usual, then be prompted for DUO authentication. This generally takes the form of a push notification to your mobile device. Alternatives include a USB Key or a temporary bypass code obtained from the DUO App or the IT Helpcenter.
Enrollment
Important note, when your enrollment process starts, you will be notified via your Clark State College email by a member of Clark State College, most commonly – Matt Franz. You will not be able to enroll your device/use DUO until you are notified of your DUO enrollment.
When it is time to enroll your device, you will receive an email to your Clark State College email from DUO. Please note that this email does not come from Clark State IT Personnel – it is automated from within the DUO system.
Once you have the DUO Mobile app installed on your phone, click on this link from your device to enable DUO. If you do not have email set up on your device, you can open the web version by navigating to https://mail.clarkstate.edu on your phone’s internet browser and logging in as normal.
If you click on the activation link on your desktop, you will be prompted to take a picture of a barcode with the DUO Mobile app on your mobile device.

If you do not enroll by the deadline stated in the communication emails, you will not be able to log in when your account is required to use DUO. If this happens, please contact the IT Helpcenter for a temporary bypass code. Once logged in, follow the enrollment instructions in the email from DUO.
