Zoom Phone Online Fax - ***NEW FEATURE as of 09.12.2025***
All employees with a phone line can now fax for free. The library fax machine will now charge 4 cents per page. Going forward, please refrain from using the library copier to send the actual fax to avoid the unnecessary charge.
Faxes can be sent and received directly within the Zoom application – both the desktop and mobile versions!
The fax feature is not on by default in Zoom. If you find you need to send or receive a fax, please submit a request at https://help.clarkstate.edu to activate this feature. Faxes can also be received on departmental lines if desired, though that feature would also need to be enabled.
Note: If you have a student worker who needs to send a fax, please have them work with a staff member who has a phone line to send this instead of using the library.
Using Zoom Fax
Sending and receiving faxes through Zoom is quick and straightforward. Note: Zoom Fax works by sending PDF documents. If you have a physical document you need to fax, use a copier on campus to scan, and email a copy of the file to yourself before starting the Zoom Fax process. The file you want to send must be in PDF format and has a size limit of 50mb. You can attach multiple documents.
Sending a Fax
-
Open the Zoom app on your device and tap the More button (on mobile) or click the Fax tab (on desktop). (Note: this will not appear for you until it has been configured):
- Once in the Fax area, you have several options. Received faxes show up on the right-hand side. To send a fax, click the blue “+” button on the upper left:
- Once you click the blue “+” button, another window will open for you to send the fax:
- To Field - Enter the 10-digit number you are sending to. If you send frequent faxes to the same number, you can save this in your personal address book found under the contacts tab, located on the main navigation tab bar (this may be under “… More” as well)
From Field - This will always be your personal number.
- Fax Cover - There are currently no configured cover pages. If you or your department need a cover page, please enter a ticket at https://help.clarkstate.edu
Attachment - Click the Upload icon or click and drag your file to attach your PDF document. Drag and drop your PDF file in the space provided or click to open a file window to browse your file. You can obtain a PDF file by scanning a paper document at a nearby copier, or by saving a Microsoft Office document as a PDF. For other types of files, you can use Foxit PDF Editor, located in the Software Center.
Send the Fax:
Click the Send Fax button to transmit your document.
